#12 SHOES OF THE FORGOTTEN WORLD PART 2 | FRENCH CONNECTION CLOGS

Here’s the second part of: SHOES OF THE FORGOTTEN WORLD

If you didn’t catch the first part, read it here. If you did read it, top marks to you, Sir. Onwards to the next pair of forgotten shoes.

FRENCH CONNECTION CLOGS

According to Mum, clogs are gonna be ‘in’. They’re gonna be the new ‘going out trainers’.

TAKE NOTE PEOPLE

I do vaguely remember her saying clogs were ‘in’ back in 2012 when she went on a crazy clog buying spree. However, the fur lined Ugg clogs were the tip of the ice berg for me, and I haven’t been able to take clogs seriously since then.

But hey, these are cute and classic. No fur in sight.

These must have been purchased during that clog buying spree back in 2012, but I must say that they’ve retained their wearability. And FYI tassels and fringe are top of my ‘want list’, so these get full marks from me.

I think it’s important to say at this time ‘THANK YOU HOLLAND’ for giving us not only windmills, cheese and  soft drugs, but the gift of wooden shoes. Who knew wooden soled shoes could be so comfortable?!

Appaz. (according to good ol’ Wikepedia) “Traditional clogs were often worn in heavy labour”. I’m not sure how any type of labouring could be done in these bad boys. Nah ah, just shopping, dancing and sipping on champers.

This skirt is from Topshop’s summer collection 2014. They’ve got some really cool skirts in at the moment. Remember that canary yellow midi skirt from this post that I bought but it wasn’t available online?

Well now it is. Check it out here.

Back to clogs and all things clog related…

If you fancy taking my Mothers sound advice and getting ahead of the style stakes, then here’s a few places you can purchase some clogs:

Swinging Stud Mule Clog  (£59) – Topshop

Leather Clog (£79) – Zara

Light Brown Block Heel Clog (£55) – River Island

So hop on the right foot and do the dutch thing – go buy yourself some clogs.

Hopefully, with Mother’s prediction about clogs being the next best thing since sliced bread and peanut butter, these will come out of hibernation. I’d like to think we can give ’em another lease of life. Get the clogs out the garage Mother!

Look out for the next post in this series on Wednesday.
