Since the summer sun has appeared in our UK skies, I’ve been doing a hella lotta daydreaming about warm breezes, beaches & cocktails.
Alas, the ‘ol bank balance keeps reminding me that there’s a mortgage to pay and if I keep buying clothes at this alarming rate I will not be going on a 2016 holibob this year.
Best keep myself out of all the Topshops, H&M’s & New Look stores for the next few months. Lols. Anyone who knows me well, knows that this statement is ridiculous with a capital R.
Here’s 5 looks that I’m channelling for this Summer.
OFF DUTY SHIRT & TRAINERS FOR DOG WALKING
I’m a great lover of the casual shirt. You should know that if you read my post here on my love of the darn things (oh and when me and Mum played models for the day. Cute.)
Linen shirts are a great change up for the Summer, and this short sleeved number from Primark makes for a cool and easy everyday wardrobe essential.
Apricot stripes too <3 <3 <3 I’m all over that. Primark did good.
All you gotta do with shirts is chuck em on over some jeans, add your sunnys and a leather jacket and the look is done.
Simplicity is key here. Don’t add ridiculous jewellery. Unless you’re a pro-accessoriser.
Perfect for dog walking because sandals and dresses don’t mix with mutts and mud.
Who can spot @Georgethewhippet?
The only thing that would make this outfit more happy is a pair of these mint green bad boys. Someone wanna be a darling and buy me some?
Apricot striped shirt (£10) – Primark (in store)
Leather jacket (£59) – Warehouse
MAXI DRESS FOR BEACH WALKS & BBQS
You gotta have a trusty maxi in your summer wardrobe, right?
For beach walks, BBQs, wavy, film star hair and obvs to cover up hairy legs when you CBA to shave again in the summer.
Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about, cheeky wotsit.
This one is a new addition to my wardrobe and I picked it up in H&M this week. I think it’s supposed to be a midi but y’know, I’m making it work as a maxi because lol so short it hurts.
It’s also got this cheeky split back which I haven’t shown off in the photos. This look is flattening on all shapes and sizes – the maxi dress is everyone’s friend.
Dress it up with wedges, dress it down with sandals. Versatile as hell. That’s why it makes the Summer wardrobe list.
Maxi dress (24.99) – H&M (different pattern – one below is sold out)
PLEAT TROUSERS & BOMBER JACKET FOR UK SUMMER
Because we live in the UK and it rains. Even in Summer.
Grab yourselves a bomber jacket folks. They’re all the rage.
Especially the super shiny variety that make you feel like you’re in an 80’s gal group.
This copper coloured beauty combined with these super cool pleat trousers was actually a style steal from one of the Bridesmaids last week.
My Mum and I clocked the style triumph the moment she walked through the door. I turned to my Mum to make a comment but she was already on the iphone placing an online order with Topshop.
My Mum. The original shopping addict.
She said we can share the items. What’s the point in doubling up, she said. What a babe.
So here I am sashaying around in her garden in them. My fave look today.
P.s I know I said I was gonna throw away all my crop tops in this post here. I lied. Soz not soz.
OFF THE SHOULDER SUMMER EVERYTHING FOR BALMY SUMMER EVENINGS
Cold shoulders have gone a bit crazy. Everyone wants their sexy shoulders on show. Oh la la.
I bought ‘that’ top from H&M a month or so ago (post here) and since then I see sexy shoulders all over the place. Just need the weather now. Come on UK, gimme some sunshine.
This is an older number from Topshop from my Mum’s wardrobe. It’s coming home with me tonight.
Great for showing off a summer tan but not so great for dancing. (Get where I’m coming from?)
Also great for city vacays and covering up beer bloat. Just an FYI. But you guys are way too classy for that right?
Off the shoulder sun dress – New Look (not the same as one below, but similar & I want it wah)
So now the wardrobes sorted, all we need is for Summer to hurry the hell up.
