Culottes. What a strange word.
Wikipedia (OBVS reliable source…) describes this item of clothing like this:
“hangs like a skirt, but is actually pants.”

My first feelings about these wide legged cropped trouser thingys was like: ‘WTF I COULD NEVER WEAR THEM WITH MY SHORT STUMPY LEGS’
And when my Mum came home with this jumpsuit edition I eyed it suspiciously and thought: ‘You aren’t going to do me any favours…’
Jumpsuits/playsuits don’t usually mix well with me, mainly because at 4 foot 11 my body is far too short for ANYTHING and I end up with a saggy crotch. Unattractive, much?
So I thought this jumpsuit/culottes combo would be some kind of horrible disaster, but actually it fits pretty good and at £22, what the hell can I complain about?
As well as being all floaty and summery, it’s also comfortable. I’m gonna wear it to Summer BBQ’s – I’ll look effortlessly chic whilst stuffing my face with burgers and halloumi cheese. Classy lady.
So I don’t feel I’ve made a big enough deal about how this is from Tescos. Yes, TESCOS.
The clothes aisles in supermarkets are dangerous. One minute you’re looking for lamb chops and then BAM you find yourself in the summer dress aisle, cramming cheap items of clothing in your basket.
It’s so easily done.
But seriously, Tesocs and Sainsburys do sell some pretty cool stuff. Obviously it’s mixed in with all the uncool stuff, so you have to be a selective ninja, but yeah deff worth checking it out.
Mum decided that her new-ish pastel Topshop Sandals would be a nice accompaniment to this outfit. This low chunky heel is all the rage at the moment, and they’re much more bearable than towering stilettos. So huge plus there. Also, no embarrassing ‘sinking in grass’ moments with these beauties. Practical and cute, I like it.

This is my dog Milo. Isn’t he a cutie? He can be a bit camera shy but he wandered into my shot so I managed to capture this photo of him getting all cosy with me. He’s such a soppy sausage.

DON’T BE SCARED OF CLOTHING.
BE ADVENTUROUS.
BE A CLOTHES NINJA.
