TWO WORKWEAR LOOKS FOR SPRING

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

I’ve legit just spent a whole commute starring all my fave items on ASOS, H&M & Zara. I mean I have zero moneys in the bank right now but as soon as I get my mitts on some Imma be buying me some giant frill shirts and boyfriend fit dungarees. Just saying.

Okay so I took these photos two weekends ago when I was on a blogger roll. Since then I’ve lopped my hair off so y’know, bear that in mind. I’m basically a new woman.

Here are two looks I’m wearing this Spring at work. I’m talking about Spring because my god we hit 16 degrees this week and the mildness is just all things great. Like hello, I can surely I can start wearing my light trench coat with dresses and bare legs soon? That will probs mean I have to shave them; swings and roundabouts eh. So these looks are pretty smart/casual because that’s the general gist of things where I spend my days.

STRIPES, BLAZER & ALL THINGS BADGED

I’ve realised recently that a statement Jade item is stripes.  I own so many striped things (despite a personal stylist telling me once that they made me look broad – AND WHAT).

Okay so funny story about this blazer. I picked this up on the way to work one morning. Yup, you read that right. I am now a person who shops on the way to work. TBF I had an event on and I was worried I looked too casual. So I flew into the Joy Store at Waterloo (a fabulous place for last minute shopping I’ll have yee know) and picked up this dinner jacket blazer in the sale. I was proper happy with myself. It started dressing up anything casual that I feel like wearing to work. Except jogging bottoms, a blazer does nothing for the formality of jogging bottoms.

I want this baby pink ASOS blazer to add to the collection, pretty please.

This badged up bag was a gift from my fashion forward mama a month or two ago. And this week at LFW (if you’ve been keeping up with all the street & catwalk style) you’ll see that patches, badges and all things cartoon are trending, people. How my Mum does that whole foreseeing thing I will never know. I hope it’s hereditary though.

PLEATS, STATEMENT SHOES PAIRED WITH A CASUAL TEE

Here’s a silly story about pleated skirts. Last year when me and Max hit up Budapest, I packed an oranage/red pleated midi skirt from New Look. I adored it. On our second day when I’d planned to wear it, we’d decided to hire bikes (can you see where this is going?) In my head I was like ‘oh so dreamy, I’ll be peddling along in my flowy midi skirt looking all cool and hip – think of the ace photos!’ Instead, I got my fave new midi skirt mangled in the wheels of my bike. Cue all the oil over said midi skirt. A lot of huffs and sadness. Never to be worn again.

Pleats are the trend that just keep giving though and they’re 100% here to stay. I’m looking to style them with slouchy t-shirts and slouchy jumpers. And I *might* even wear this one with trainers when I’m away in Geneva next month. Because I’ve seen it done on Insta and I wanna be a cool gal, okay?

I’ve said a lot about these statement red shoes in another post here. Stripes, red shoes & red lips are a classic combo that you can’t deny.
