JUST A LITTLE HOME HAUL

7

There is no sweeter activity than buying items for the home. Especially when your home is a giant blank canvas just waiting to be painted all over in magical colours.

Last weekend we had a particularly successful visit to Lakeside Retail Park because not only did we pick up some uber cute stuff, we also came to lots of really cool decisions about, y’know, the practical stuff. Like colour palettes for each room, front door style and where my handbags will be stored.

We are so full of practicalities.

Mugs – £2.50 each (George at Asda)

We have put a complete embargo on anything with ultra cheeseball slogans, especially stuff that includes the words ‘FAMILY’ and ‘DREAM’ and ‘FRIENDSHIP’ in swirly letters.

But these adorable letter mugs from George at Asda caught our eye and I swear to you this is the furthest we will go in the ‘cutesy’ department. Pinky promise.

Green tea tastes better in a mug with your initial on anyways.

Copper Letter/Document Holder – £10 (George at Asda)

Remember my white/copper lamp from this post here? Well look what I just found to sit perfectly on the desk next to it. Uh huh, a super practical letter/document/thingy majiggy holder.

For holding all those pieces of paper that come through the door that you want to ignore (I think people call them ‘bills’).

Glass Bottle – £2 (George at Asda)

I’ve always wanted to be one of those people that cool their water in these classy glass bottles in the fridge. HECK maybe I’ll be one of those super cool people that makes their very own apple juice and stores it all up in these bad boys.

Doubtful, I can barely find enough time to wash my hair nowadays. Sigh.

Anyways, a pretty standard purchase but I’m one step closer to being a dinner party host that produces this from their fridge when asked for a glass of water.

I think you call that ‘hostess with the mostest’. Uh huh.

Can’t find this baby online, but I did just stumble across these cute glass milk bottles. Adorable much?!

Yellow/Grey Dog Cushion – £12 (B&Q)

My love affair with the yellow/grey colour palette continues. Even better, I’m combining it here with my love of dogs. It’s ‘win win’ all round.

And who knew B&Q could be so classy in their soft furnishings department? I thought it was all nails and doors and paint and hammers. But they had loads of awesome stuff, including some ‘mazin copper light shades that I’m blates gonna purchase before the end of the month.

My poor bank balance.

Magical Multicolored Chest – £150 (Homesense)

So we were nearly on the verge of buying a gigantic shelf shaped like a whale (yes, you did read that right) but we got distracted by this mysterious chest. It had my heart from the off.

We stood looking at it for what seemed like an age – ‘Would it go with our lounge? How would it sit in the bay window? Could I fit inside it?’

Until we decided that yes, this chest most definitely had to come home with us today and we shouldn’t delay any longer. And no, we most definitely did not need a whale shaped shelf.

Decisions made. BISH BASH BOSH.

And when we got home and showed my parents, Max was explaining how we would keep spare blankets inside it for the cold winter months. I, on the other hand,  was already calculating how many handbags I could fit inside it.

Duh, it’s a no brainer. This chest was made to look pretty and store numerous amounts of handbags.

Ta for checking in. We’ve got a wall coming down in the new place this weekend. I’m pretty much a builder now, don’t cha know?
