This week has been busy. Mainly because I’m trying to do a gazillion things at once (new website I’m coming for ya) but also because my diary is super filled up for the next couple of weeks. So I’m like ‘let’s get stuff done. GO GO GO’
I’m also going out for a marathon shop tomorrow with Mumma Bear, so I’ve been saving the pennies.
Here’s all the things that have been making me swoon with happiness this week:
NEW HAIR DON’T CARE
Okay so it’s not like I’ve gone and shaved half my hair off one side and dyed it purple. But I have had my first full head of highlights since the age of 14 and that’s pretty breaking news right?
I love my hairdresser. Every couple of months I go in and she asks me what I want, as usual, and I kind of shuffle about in the chair umming and ahhing, tilting my head to one side in the mirror.
She’s a babe. She knows instantly that what I need is ‘new hair’. Just a little shake up. Enough to make me feel brand new and fresh.
So I now have the most dreamiest hues of blonde/honey/auburn on my head and yes, I feel like a million dollars.
I walked out of Edge Hair in Leigh-on-Sea yesterday feeling ever so sassier than usual.

I’m a sucker for a film based on real life events. I watch, completely gripped by curiosity, before spending a good day after Googling:
‘How accurate is X?’
‘Did X really happen?’
‘Did X actually shoot Y?’
Films based on real life events just seem just that bit more grittier than anything else. Add in some gangsters and a 1950/60’s setting and I’m completely sold.
I give this bad boy a strong 9/10. Any film with Tom Hardy x 2 is an absolute winner, right?
Watch watch watch.
VDAY CUTENESS
I see all y’all cuties running around picking up flowers and spending a day and an age choosing that card.
Valentines Day. The one day of the year that we shamelessly profess our love to our significant other.
We throw cards and flowers at them. We bake for them. We post insane amounts of Instagram photos saying:
‘LOOK HOW AMAZING HE/SHE IS’
It’s nice to tell people how much you care. I’ve been treated to breakfast and dinner by my hunk of love. I baked him some cookies. It’s the simple things.
I’ve got slightly different thoughts about this day though. I tried to get this going last year. Kinda failed. But I’d like to make the point again that it’s waaaaaay nicer to like, tell people how much you care about them all the way through the year:
Surprise them with a present.
Send them a card saying how much you’re thinking of them.
Serenade them outside their window at 2am in the morning.
Okay maybe don’t go that far but you get the picture? Let’s all care much more throughout the year.
Spread the love people.
MACAROONS FROM ‘STOP THE WORLD’ (LEIGH-ON-SEA)
This was a wee Valentines Day gift to myself. I’m nibbling on these beauties right now, pretending I’m Blair Waldorf and all that. Standard.
It’s no secret that Stop The World in Leigh-on-Sea is banging. The place was full to bursting with cute Vday couples pouring each other tea out for cutesy china teapots and feeding each other gigantic slabs of cake.
It really is quite wonderful.
I had to battle my way past the waiting queue for the restaurant just to purchase my macaroons. They’re clearly doing well, and it makes perfect sense. The place is beaut.
All one wants on a Sunday afternoon is bloody good tea and bloody good cake in a nice, quaint setting right?
INVITES THAT MAKE ME FEEL LIKE CINDERELLA
Guess who’s only gone and been invited to her first blogger event? Uh huh, that’s right. *points at chest*
Don’t wanna say too much at this point, only that I’m absoloutly stoked to be asked to attend said event for two reasons:
One. I get to meet some blogger friends. That will be ace. Like ‘HEY you blog and I blog, let’s be friends.’
Two. I get some free pampering.
Enough said. But yeah, all things are falling into place. Including my new website which I know I keep saying but IT’S COMING SOON FOLKS.
