I’m a broken woman.

I’ve been awake for 48 hours straight and I’ve walked 26.7 miles. I’m practically Iron Woman.

I didn’t think this blog post would get out today but would I really let you down? Nah ah.

So here it is. 5 babin’ things making me smile this week:

A fantastically organised event for a fantastic cause. Last night, I joined 15,000 other people on the streets of London in my bra, and power walked 26.2 miles. Crazy? Maybe.

I know what you’re thinking. ‘Oh it’s only walking, how hard can it be?’

Whoa whoa whoa. Lemme tell ya. It’s a test of pure endurance and strength. Its a fast paced, sleep deprived race. It’s not running, but it’s bloody quick I can tell you that. I challenge you to try it next year and see just how non-comparable it is to a wander in the park.

It took Team Disco Diva 7 hours and 15 minutes to complete, and at 5.45am this morning we crossed the finish line. Shiny leggings and star shaped glasses an all.

Our makeup (which was flippin’ fabulous) was created by MUA Jackie Coles (absolute babe) and our hair was put together by Hairclubin’ (the crimping queens). Because everyone needs to look and feel sassy as hell when doing a marathon. Obvs.

We’ve raised nearly £2,000 so far and still counting. Thanks to all you super duper people out there who donated. Biggest thumbs up.

I’ll be doing a full post on this wee event next week. Watch out for it and find out why you should do the Moonwalk next year.

This cracker of a recipe came to me via Mrs Wiggles (Max’s ma). She probably cooks it better than me. She’s full of snazzy recipe ideas at the mo.

Any who, this was a yummy and super simple dinner to chuck together. I thought that was right up your street, so I’m spreading the recipe love.

The sweet potato rosti is what makes this meal. A rosti is basically a hash brown, but it’s healthier, better turned out cousin. Y’know what I mean?

(Serves 2)

3 eggs

2 sweet potatoes

Spring onion

Red pepper

Lime juice

Salt & pepper

And here’s how you throw this one together; grate your sweet potatoes and combine with chopped sweet potato and one whisked egg. Season with praprika, garlic, salt & pepper.

Form into pattys and bake in the oven at 200c.

For the avocado salsa, combine chopped avocado & red pepper and mix with lime juice, salt & pepper.

Fry your egg up and throw it all together on a plate.

Easy peasey lemon squeezey.

Stop what you’re doing and don your Sherlock Holmes hat.

On Tuesday I had the joy of heading to a new live gaming experience called Escape Live in Southend-on-Sea. It’s a feature in our Student Magazine this month, and what a great way to escape the office for super lols. Thanks for the invite Rhubarb_Tuesday.

From the moment we walked in, to the hour after in the office – we couldn’t stop giggling. Like full on giggling.

It was a cross between Crystal Maze & a murder mystery.

What’s not to love?

I’d never done anything like this before but appaz it’s quite a popular pastime for young people at the moment.  It was only a few days before I experienced  it for myself that I was invited to one in London by some pals. Could this be the new craze to replace ping pong drinking?

Picture this. You find yourself locked in a room for an hour and you have to use the clues inside to solve a series of puzzles to get you out.

Cue my seriously competitive side.

Dramatic countdown music. Secret shelves/doors/compartments & a walky talky.

Despite frantically trying to work out puzzle after puzzle, Ruby & I had to ask for a few wee clues and we didn’t get out the room in the allocated time. But we did leave in high spirits though and an ensuing giggling fit entailed about our inadequacy as detectives.

We won’t be giving up our jobs in Marketing that’s for sure.

The whole thing was really well put together and if you’re looking for something different to try in Southend-on-Sea it comes with a high recommendation from me.

Check it out here – Escape Live

Cute top alert. It’s an Adidas number, from Topshop. Had to feature ’cause wow look at the pretty colours. And this is gonna look ace with oversized Quay sunglasses and denim shorts this Summer.

Dare I say it again, but mint coloured trainers please. They’d go down a treat with this cutie.

That is all.

You can find it here.

One step closer to a sweet ol’ garden of dreams that we can sit in and sip pimms alllllll Summer long. Hurraaaaah.

We were donated this lovely picnic bench from a friend when we moved it and it needed a wee lick of paint to make it the Pinterest worthy bench I knew it could be.

What do you do when you can’t decide which colour to paint it? Um paint it two colours, of course.

Maxwell did it.  Best surprise ever to come home to from work. SQUEAL cute bench alert.

Now someone pass me a picnic hamper and lemme get some use of it it.

Hi Sara, I’ve never been to ‘Locked In’ before, but after looking it up it seems like the same kinda thing. But this one is really local. If you email essex@escapelive.co.uk they can give you more info. Or their website is http://www.escapelive.co.uk/

If you can say you got the recommendation from my blog that would be fab.

Let me know how you get on if you do it!
