This conversation seems to be happening to me all over the shop at the moment:

Person x ‘Yeah, I always read it and I’m always looking out for your new posts on Facebook.’

Marvellous. I could kiss these people all over and I feel compelled to buy them ice cream and tell them they have really nice hair because YIPPEE they actually read this thing.

But then I wanna slap them (lightly on the wrist, obvs) for not subscribing to my blog. Because all they have to do is enter their email address and they wouldn’t have to trawl through my Facebook for my new posts because they’d be sent them directly.

Sounds ace right?

I’ve been contemplating writing this post for a while. I’ve composed it in my head a few times in the shower but never actually committed to writing it down. But I think it’s important to get this out, if this blog is gonna keep going and all that.

Gasp. Keep going, you say?

Yes, keep going.

I need subscribers to make this baby worth while. Here’s 4 reasons you should subscribe to my blog right now, today, this very moment in time:

ONE. I put together two posts a week, 8 posts a month. Each post takes me about around 5 hours from start to finish. On average, that’s about 40 hours worth of work a month.

I don’t earn any money off this blog. It is, at the end of the day, a hobby. And a very deeply involved, taking-over-my-life hobby at that. Don’t you think it’s only fair that if you indulge in my blog on the regular that you gimme a lil summin’ summin back?

TWO. If you’re like me, then I bet you’re more than happy to give out your email address when signing up for free wifi or pizza express vouchers or a chance to win free tickets to see Spice Girls.

HECK, we’re such email address whores.

So if you’re happy to give out your email address for these willy-nilly things then how about giving  this gal your email address STAT.

THREE. If you subscribe today I can guarantee you blog content of the lush variety that’s only gonna get better. I’m investing in a beautiful new camera this month that’s gonna take the photos up a notch in the glossy department. And I’ll talk about recipes/OOTD/Home wear until I’m blue in the face if that’s what you wanna hear about.

FOUR. If you subscribe today and I personally know you, I’ll give you a big fat shout out ’cause I’m nice like that.

 

Last month, I  had 3,534 page  views.  That’s a drop in the ocean for big time bloggers but for a small town gal like me it’s not to be scoffed at.

And I can see, through the snazzy technology of Google Analytics, that around half of my visitor numbers are returning visitors.

Hooray, half you guys like me so much that you keep coming back. That makes me happy.

However, what would make me smile even more is this; if you are a returning visitor, someone that regularly checks into my blog, then please subscribe using the bar below.

I won’t spam you. I’ll just send you a direct link to a post every time I publish something.

Basically, just do a gal a favour and subscribe.
