OOTD: CUTE RUFFLE SHIRT

I’m back from Devon with a truly happy heart. I have a sunburnt face and half a beach still in my hair but hey, that’s cool. I’ve recharged my batteries and I’m totally ready to blog again. More on that in a post later on in the week.

I took an extra day off  yesterday to skip around London with Max in the sunshine. I hadn’t seen him for 5 whole days so I just wanted alllllll the Max face time. It’s funny all that ‘absence makes the heart grown fonder’ stuff – I was literally attached to his hip the whole day like ‘IMMA NEVER GOING AWAY WITHOUT YOU AGAIN BAE’.

We headed over to South Kensington to hit up the Saatchi Gallery, drink cute cups of coffee and search for good Thai food. The exhibition we saw was all about ‘the selfie’ – how it’s developed over time and what it means in this day & age. Super relevant, super good. Certainly raises some questions about where we’re going as a society and how much time we spend attached to our mobile devices. Get yourselves down there if you can.

ANYWAY.

I somehow managed to slip into the South Kensington Zara by accident in between the gallery and all the mooching around. Oops. An hour later and I exited the shop with one giant, paper Zara bag of goodies. ALL THE FUN, yup. I mean, I was supposed to be picking up an outfit for a black tie awards evening I’m going to next week. But nope, completely blew my budget on tops and shoes and jeans. I have zero self restraint, what is wrong with me?

So looks like I’ll be wearing my pants to the awards thing next week. Doh.

So here’s one of my purchases from that little splurge. Do you remember back here when I talked about the gingham shirt from New Look? Yeah well, it shrunk in the wash so I’ve been without any gingham for a while now which is sad. Until now. I’m now the proud owner of this snazzy gingham shirt with a front ruffle running through it. I wanted to get it in the baby blue print too, but Max said I looked a bit like a picnic blanket cross farmers wife so I put that down, pronto.

The black jeans are also new. Only £19.99 which I think is a total bargain. I’m sick to death of my black jeans turning grey in the wash so I’ll let you know how I get on with these babies.

I’ve teamed this very monochrome outfit with some baby pink flats and bag. Although what this outfit really needs (which is code for ‘what Jade really wants’) is a dusty baby pink blazer to chuck over the top for work. I saw a lady wearing one today on the tube and totally wanted to steal it off her. She also had a mega cute necklace on which im 97% sure was from Oliver Bonas. Anyway, enough about mugging people on the tube for their wares.

By the way, please ignore my hair in these photos. Not quite sure what I was thinking when I tried to curl it. The ringlets have fallen into a more casual wave now, so thank god for that.

And lack of photos is due to the fact that I did these before work. I’m trying to be super efficient and all that, but there’s only so much I can do before 7.30am in the morning lols.
